The baby was born with a birth defect with 2 heads, 3 arms and the same internal organs.

Babita Ahirwar, 21, and her 25-year-old husband, Jaswant Singh Ahirwar, discovered their twins were conjoined when the mother gave birth in the 35th week of pregnancy.
Mr. Jaswant said: “My wife fainted after seeing the baby. We were shocked. Unbelievable. Everyone was shocked to see them. We couldn’t believe our baby had two heads. After the ultrasound, we were told we were having twins. Both were very happy when they were about to welcome two children, but in the end it was a baby with two heads.”
Babita’s two children have separate heads and three arms but share the same internal organs.
Dr Surendra Sonkar, a pediatric specialist at the district hospital in Vidisha, said the baby will be referred to a higher level hospital for further treatment.
“This is a case of conjoined twins. We are taking care of the baby and will take the opinion of expert doctors in Bhopal and Delhi who have previously performed surgery on such children,” Dr Surendra said.
Dr Pratibha Oswal said: “This is the first child of a woman who got married a year and a half ago. She went to the hospital in her 35th week of pregnancy and during an ultrasound we found she was pregnant with conjoined twins.”
The pregnant woman’s husband also shared: “This is my child and I will raise it as it is now. I still haven’t had a baby in my arms. People are talking about many things but he is my child and I will take him home. As long as my child is alive, I will love and take care of him.”
A two-headed baby is a rare condition that occurs when the fetus does not develop properly, jeopardizing the child’s normal life. According to India’s national health information portal, the prevalence of birth defects in India is about 6-7%, equivalent to about 1.7 million birth defects annually.
